Fishable water is like catnip to these sims. It's all anyone wants to do, ever. Though I suppose with winter looming on the horizon and nary a supermarket in sight, it could just be survival instincts setting in.

[Note: My BaCC had a few fits and starts before it got to its current iteration, so the Sweets' first week is slightly inconsistent (one male settler since townified, Batavus family not yet arrived despite being founders!). This was also before I figured out screenshots, so these are just in-game camera pics. But some important things happened, so I thought I'd show you anyway. Also, I forgot the founder is supposed to go first, so after this week, the rota will change.]
