Round 5 (Fall): Snowe
[sim credits]
Last time at the Snowe house, Eustacia and Geraldine had birthdays; Thierry worked on his parenting skills; Lucy finished her second novel; and Virginia opened her art gallery on Main Street.

(I tried out a sharpen filter this around. I don't know, what do you guys think?)

Geraldine's bunny is kind of creepy-looking, but it also sort of reminds me of my favorite stuffed animal growing up... Oh well, she doesn't seem to mind!

There's new produce in at Lucy's Garage, which the customers are pleased to see, but the grocery side of things is keeping Lucy from making much headway on her first car restoration. The upside is, at least she looks cute in her coveralls!

Back at the house, Eustacia spends some quality time with a newly de-Thierry-faced Geraldine. In the background, you can see she's sneakily stuffed some pillows into her bed in preparation for her night's plans...

Girls' night with Ramona!

Thierry is completely fooled by her little ruse. Either that or he's just distracted by the sudden lack of his face on Geraldine. Hey, at least I let her keep your eyes! Don't get greedy.

Alas, as with Penelope before her, the town's teen patrol catches up to Eustacia as well. (Seriously, guys, you spend all your resources on this when you've got a master burglar still on the loose? Where are your priorities?)

Thierry gives her his best talking-to, but is it just me, or does she not look all that chastened?

What-EVER, Dad. God, you're so lame! *flounce*

After a long night at the garage, Lucy settles in for a bath, and Virginia utterly fails at cooking something other than grilled cheese. :(

Lucy is the only playful sim in the house, with 8 points to everyone else's 3, so sometimes it's up to her to make the conversations fun. Even if she's the only one who lols.

Wim continues to be much more successful in his romantic endeavors than his older brother.

Candles!

And how did our teenaged Yves turn out?

O.o Maybe he just needs a better haircut?

Poor Yves-- he's got a total TS3 pudding face! Who is responsible for this? >:(

Eustacia lends a hand at her mom's gallery. In addition to working the register, she mans the espresso bar for hours. But just like [livejournal.com profile] krolowa_francji, I can't get anyone to order a drink. :(

Thierry decides to celebrate Geraldine's birthday while all the ladies are away at the gallery. Which, on the one hand, is a little bit inconsiderate, but on the other, does make for a calmer and less hectic celebration.

Geraldine's stats are 7/3/10/3/7. This is a very shy family. Lucy is the only one of them who has more than 3 Outgoing points, and she only has 4!

Yves just wanted to give his little sis a birthday hug, but she does not want! I think she's just cranky 'cause he woke her up from her nap.

Gurrrrl, I know the feeling.

But he makes it up to her with a hi-larious bedtime story.

Hmm, possible ancestor responsible for pudding face?

The kids' room gets rearranged once again, and Eustacia claims the far corner for her own.

Thierry's family sim instincts seem to have finally taken hold. Good for you, Thierry.

Ummmmmmmm..........

Thierry: "Hello, children of mine."

Thierry: "Daughter." *still noting distinct lack of Thierry-face*

Geraldine: "Father, do not be mad. Can you not simply enjoy my lovely bone structure and still very Thierry-ish features?"

Virginia: "PLUS FRIENDS."

Knowledge sims! (Yves rolled knowledge just like his sister.)

Virginia shares her love for grilled cheese with her youngest, redheadiest child.

Pudding and sisters. :|

Town driver, Alvin Macarevich, which is an excellent name. I've always wondered what he does after hours...

Thierry: making even poison ivy look suave.

That'll do it for this round! Up next is another peek at the Castaway kids!

Oh, it's not that puddingy. You can get used to it.

Wow. No more toddlers in the house. That's got to feel strange. Almost as strange as them all suddenly not looking like clones of you, which does seem to be the thing that bothers him most.

I hadn't noticed it before, but Wim looks a LOT like Piet in the face. I hope his road continues to be smoother.

BTW, I can't get those bunkbeds to work in my game, because they're "slaved" to an original from Paris Living, which site is no longer anywhere. Any idea where I can still get the original?

No more toddlers. All of my original settlers are soon to be empty nesters! With the age mod I'm using, they've still got quite a way to go before they become elders, so who knows what they'll all do...

Wim & Piet is 95% the skin, which has a stubbly photoskinning to it that falls just this side of acceptable for me. Otherwise, Wim's face is much softer than Piet's (but most people's are!).

Hmm, don't know about the bunk bed. Next time I open up the game, I'll see if I can tell where I got the recolor from at least!

(It is kind of pudding! Poor Yves. Hopefully it'll get less so when he ages up.)

Is it at the Graveyard?

I looked at the graveyard, but if it's there, it's not under anything with "Paris" in the title, and all I have is the reference in the catalog description.

Peni, from I can tell, I only have the recolor from this post at GOS (http://www.digitalperversion.net/gardenofshadows/index.php?topic=20736.msg533577#msg533577). Hopefully that will have the files you need?

Nope, that's where I got it in the first place, and I was hoping the mesh would be included, but either it wasn't, or there's something about arranging them I don't understand. That's possible; I can't get the simbology shelf beds to move up and down the wall, either. I'll try playing with them some more but as of now, they aren't working.

With my preference for big families, I've needed bunk beds since I started in Sims 1 ten years ago, and never have gotten one that worked.

Hmm, that's a bummer. Have you tried taking everything but the shelf beds out to see if there's maybe some CC conflict? Are you having trouble placing them or shifting them using the [ ] keys? I only discovered bunk beds this year, and now I don't know how I ever got along without them, especially since I prefer small houses.

It's sweet how the siblings interact, even if it isn't always appreciated (not that I blame Geraldine, I hate being woken up).

Me, tooooo. It's nice now that Geraldine is old enough to actually interact with everyone, though I was surprised at how badly she responded to Yves' hugs at first! Oh well, they just need some more time to bond, I guess!

Dammit, I love Thierry. The fucks he gives are sparse. Child's birthday? I'll do what I want, family.
Such pretty kids! Geraldine is adorable. I actually kinda like Yves, puddingface is only unbearable twhen it's everywhere.

Hahahahahahahaha, that perspective makes me love Thierry more, too!
Yves looks less bad the more I look at him, I guess. Maybe this is just his awkward phase, since I thought he was a pretty cute kid.

I love that there's so much happening, with the different businesses and all the kids growing! My head would be spinning trying to keep up with it all in-game, but it's loads of fun to read about <3

That's so nice to hear! I have the most fun setting things up (building and decorating and making sims), so a round like this where there's nothing to make can seem a little dull to me sometimes. I'm glad it didn't turn into a dull post at least!

Those will all be dear memories when you're old, Eustacia! And really, the popo are tormenting St Margo's youth just because they're useless to do some real police work.

Love the picspam. The sharpening looks nice, although I don't really care about the technical aspect of the journals I follow. It's all about the captions really.

I don't see what's wrong with Yves, maybe you had some expectations with him that weren't met, but he looks fine to me. Then of course we have completely different tastes ^^
