When we last saw our boys, Milo was playing jazz piano at his very own bar, and temporary housemate Jasper was looking for love around every corner, with varying degrees of success.
Oh, and also, remember when I thought it would be so brilliant to pair up Milo and Lucy Snowe?

I think she's surprised by how charming she suddenly finds him.

And darling Jasper is so very happy.

Milo... doesn't need to know about this.

... On the other hand, I'm sure he'd be glad to see Jasper's been building customer loyalty!

Millie wanders back down to the bar feeling pretty pleased with herself.

And wonder of wonders, customers start autonomously ordering drinks! Finally! All of those hours of Jasper standing behind the bar, staring blankly at townies sitting motionless on their barstools... At last, the bar is a bar!

Yay! They also make it to a level 4 business that night. Jasper is stoked!

His morning sidewalk yoga is extra jubilant!

The music section is totally engrossing!

Milo is so caught up in his enthusiasm for his business's progress that he wasn't really listening to what Jasper was trying to tell him at the breakfast table. It seems one night with Millie has reminded Jasper that this was never meant to be a permanent situation, and the place is a little cramped when you've got two eligible bachelors to consider.

It was great to have an old friend to crash with when he first came to this new place, but it's time for Jasper to quit freeloading and see if he can make it on his own. Or at least, almost on his own...

Having rid himself of one stray, Milo finds another in the form of a cat from the alley behind the bar.

Milo calls him Yardbird.

Yardbird HATES dumpsters. They remind him of his troubled kittenhood. He hates his troubled kittenhood.

All dumpsters shall know his pain, because now, it will be their pain, too!

Yardbird settles in to the bar as if he owned the place, and the customers are quick to dote upon him. With Jasper gone, Milo's hired the garden club townie, Skylar, to look after the bar.

With Yardbird's help.

It does knock his business back down to level 3, since he's losing a starred customer; but on the plus side, it definitely gives him more time to smustle!
And that's week 2 for the McKim household. Slightly out of sync with the other lots' seasons, but that should be fixed for next round. Thanks once again to Pooklet, MissTiikeri, and Timesynth Azrael for Virginia, Jasper, and townie Cal.
