Welcome back to Round 6 with our first new household since Piet grew up. Previously: the town's uni pledge drive drummed up enough funds to begin construction on Ste-Margo Community College, just in time for Penelope to graduate from high school and move into one of the student houses. Also: Jayne narrowly escaped death and left his hideaway on the beach to join his sweetheart for their first semester of college. Let's see how our first class gets on!


[Disclaimer: As usual, I couldn't stop taking pictures of Penelope. As much as I also love Jayne's face, the fact that Penelope was born in my old hood and I've watched her grow from a wee bebe means Jayne is somewhat underrepresented in this update!]


The two lovebirds get settled in the first of the cheap little bungalows that the town purchased to house its students. Rent is subsidized as part of their tuition, which gets paid to Dean Sweet at the beginning of each term (according to the guidelines set out by nepheris here). I'm using an age mod and Cyjon's Semester Changes, so each of their terms is two days long, for a total of eight days; and these mods make it possible for my community college to be in Ste-Margo instead of a separate subhood.


How do you like your new house, kittens?


Ah, I see. (Now that these two have grown up, they never miss an opportunity to strip down and attempt to woohoo no matter how public the spot. It was really all I could do to keep them clothed for the majority of this update.)

As is fitting for university housing, the place is furnished somewhat cheaply, but it's still plenty comfortable for the students who will be living here. Currently, Penelope and Jayne are the only occupants, but the house has three bedrooms (see the plans here) in total.



The main bedroom is currently set up for the couple but can easily be converted to a double for future occupants.

The second bedroom upstairs, as an office with Penelope's drafting table. Her LTW was always to become a city planner, no doubt inspired by her mother's founding of the town, and now she can finally start working on her degree. In spite of her artistic background, though, she chooses to major in math because she is S-M-R-T. Besides, college is the perfect time to expand your horizons. So you go, Penny!

He's a real peach.


While their little home office is nice, on days when they feel stir crazy, they head out to the "student center" to for a change of pace. This mobile unit is all they'll be getting for their tenure at SMCC, but hopefully the town will be able to start construction on some permanent facilities before too long.



Ste-Margo being the tiny hamlet it is, and SMCC just a fledgling enterprise, there's only one other young student that they've seen so far. You may have noticed her in the background at some of the town's shops. Her name (selected from a random generator) is Xenia Spirko.


Xenia Spirko! She's awesome. I made her ages ago when I started on the uni lot and really want to add her to the playables. For whatever reason, I didn't move her in with Penelope and Jayne this time, but hopefully she'll be someone's roommate next round.

With their accelerated semester schedule, these guys don't get any days off. But Jayne manages to find time to squeeze in a quick lunch before class with Marco and Una II. (Maybe that's why he didn't want Xenia to take the spare room, so he could save a spot for Marco later?)


I'm not sure if Marco's the college type, but he and Jayne will always be close. They've been through a lot together.


Jayne is a lit major and does the crossword every day. Saturday is the hardest since it never has a theme.


(Of course, in the privacy of their bedroom, they stay fully clothed!)








These two never grew out of their puppy love phase, and with the snow falling heavily around them, it feels like they're the only two people in the world.

In fact...







They're a bit young to be thinking of marriage, and they still have half of their uni days ahead of them, but I think these crazy kids might just have what it takes to make it work.
